I haven't even eaten the food yet, but waiting 45 minutes with no food on the table in a restaurant that isn't busy is inexcusable. I would not recommend this restaurant.

You can tell this place is trying but something just isn't working. We were told our wait would be 30 minutes but it ended up being more like an hour. Slightly irritating but not that big of a deal. After ordering, we waited quite awhile for our food. After it was delivered, my food was cold. The flavor was good but it wasn't even warm at the time I got it. Others received there food and found it to be bland. The last person in our group ordered a cinnamon roll which came out at the same time she dropped off the check and still charged for it. Overall, not impressed.

Long wait times to get in and staggered food times (one member of our party had to get his meal to go because it came as we were paying the checks)! The staff was friendly but management didn't seem to know what they were doing.

Somehow our 20 minute wait turned into a 2 hour wait. When we checked on the status the host got angry and said the wait is the wait and he'll get to us when he is ready. Since he was a jerk we just left. Never will give this place another chance.

We were looking forward to a nice breakfast and the host told us there would be a 20 minute wait. 2 hours later we were still never called. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else. The host was not helpful and rude. We won't be coming back. Very disappointed.

Wife and I both ordered eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. It was all descent. Good portions and good value. Coffee was average. Service was great and the waitress was friendly.

Had lunch here, and the food was pretty average. I had the spinach bacon avocado chipotle sandwich , which would have been great but the chipotle sauce was much too spicy and overpowered every other flavor. The service was also pretty slow, and we had to take her the check because we were sick of waiting. This is an average or just below average dining facility in terms of food quality and service.

Best breakfast in town. Lunch is great too! Service was friendly and fast. It gets busy but that is because it is so good.

Not my first time at this place but will be my last. A 30 minute wait turned into a 2 hour wait. We asked the host a few times about our table and he responded negatively. Oh well glad new places are opening up now so more options are available.

Super basic breakfast place. Simple menu. It's just not that good, nothing special, not worth going back here. Underwhelming experience.

Great breakfast! I had the Denver breakfast tacos, very tasty including homemade tortillas. Good service especially considering how busy they were.

First time eating here and will definitely be back. Great service and great food. I had the French Toast (added real maple syrup for $2.00) with a side of home fries. The French Toast tasted like fried dough. Crispy and covered with powdered sugar. The home fried were also great. They tasted like they were cooked with onions but I didn't see any on the plate. My brother got the eggs Benedict with spinach and avocado, I will have to try that next time.

Excellent breakfast. Had the breakfast burrito- was outstanding. Wife had French toast which was great also. Coffee is good but wished they had Lattes!

We ate here four times in seven days. Best biscuits in years!

Food was good but service was very pushy. Server asked if we were ready to order, we requested a few more minutes, server would not leave so we had to place our order. Very churn and burn on patrons. But hey it was busy and the food was good.

Came here early on a Saturday morning and we were seated right away. Our server was very friendly and was always ready for refills of coffee and water. The omelettes were really excellent. We will definitely come back during another trip to Crested Butte.

Yum! Best biscuits and gravy I've ever paid for! Service was great, too. Definitely recommend this place.

We went to this place for a relaxing breakfast and we weren't disappointed! Great omelettes and French toast with delicious coffee! Nothing too fancy. This place has a local feel that was perfect for our relaxing weekend getaway.

awesome breakfast. biscuits are phenomenal. good coffee and I'm picky. haven't had dinner or lunch there. no problems with the wait, but I don't go when it's super busy.

This is my favorite place for breakfast in Crested Butte. The food is good, the service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable.

This a basic breakfast restaurant. The coffee is okay, but tastes a little burnt. The staff is always friendly. Sadly, the menu hasn't changed since they opened. It could really use several new breakfast items. Eggs, pancakes and eggs benedict just doesn't cut it. How about corned beef hash, too?

They do it exactly right at breakfast. Straightforward menu, great service, nice atmosphere, clean and tidy. Bustling noise mingled with good humor. Nothing fancy. Wife reports excellent eggs Benedict. I report excellent scrambled eggs, bacon, English muffin, hash browns. I smothered it with a side of very respectable green chili. You can't go wrong when you handle all of the basics this way. The place looks like an old general store space--rectangular with high ceilings. The counter seats about a dozen, and there are an equal number of tables. Waitresses hustle and help each other. One minor suggestion (I didn't deduct for this): the menu could be a little more creative without ruining the commitment to basics. McGill's ventures into eggs Benedict and smoked salmon, so why not get a little more imaginative than Denver omelettes? The green chili is hidden at the bottom of the menu--why not feature it in a menu item? It wouldn't hurt to update the menu by a decade or so. Still, no complaints, really. I would go five stars, but you don't go five stars for a breakfast diner. Four is the max, and McGill's hit it.

Oh man it was good! Try the HUNGARIAN MUSHROOM SOUP! Reason alone to come back. We went during first week of October for lunch. I had the portabello muffalatta. Similar but different from the new Orleans Central Grocery muffaletta. Just be aware. The ciabatta bread and olive tampanade was great. Great big Portobello mushroom was really flavorful. My girlfriend had the avocado bacon tomato and spinach sandwich. She loved it. She swears she is going to try to make it at home. We're going back tomorrow. Really attentive wait staff. The prices are reasonable for a resort town.

American. Fast. Filling Excellent pulled pork sandwich. Soup of the day, black beans, excellent cooked, especially @ this altitude. Breakfast - skip the coffee, go to Camp4Coffee, but I like their hash browns.

The food was fantastic. I think you have to work at messing up breakfast anyway but it took SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long to get our food. We watched people sit, order, pay and leave before our food (party of four) even arrived. It was worth the wait. Wish the employees would stop playing with their hair.

The food was good, and reasonably priced, but the service was lacking. We had to get up and ask for a coffee refill, as they had neglected our table. Also the coffee was quite expensive for the quality.

We came to this place on a recommendation from the valet at our hotel. Seated promptly and service was great. Food is typical diner faire but very good. Came back next day and again a great breakfast and good service. Great place before hitting the trail.

Went in for breakfast on a Sunday morning, sat at the bar for what seemed like 15 minutes and no one would come take our order. When the waitress finally came over to us, she said "Sorry, I'll get to you guys when I can". So we left.

Known for their breakfast where everything looks so good on the menu. We waited for about 20 minutes at this busy dining establishment. It was hard to decide what to get as I heard they have really good omelets and a breakfast burrito. I went against the grain and chose the Eggs Benedict with the potatoes/home fries. I was happy with my choice and ate the entire thing. =) It's a definite must eat for breakfast if you're in town.

Absolutely a great place for lunch...a good place for breakfast too. Lunch is very reasonable, all sandwiches are in the $9 range. The attention to detail and flavoring in the sandwiches is great. I had the Cobb Chicken sandwich and highly recommend it. We had a group of seven and everyone loved what they had. Breakfast is decent, about $7 for two eggs and bacon. The Eggs Bendict is their specialty and very good. French Toast is crusty and crunchy...but flavorful.

Two of us ate there for dinner July 17th, 2010. Both of us had the salmon. The meal was good, but not great by any means. It was a pretty small piece of salmon, but you got two sides with it so I'd say the $13 price tag is fitting. Most of the dinners are BBQ which might be their specialty. I love the bar, the lights over the bar and the building so I'd give it 4-stars for atmosphere. I considered giving it 4-stars overall, but it didn't just blow me away for dinner. The service wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. The chef's and the servers need to communicate better. Our food sat for a few minutes before the server realized our food was up and it wasn't busy at all. I put the blame on the chef who didn't exactly look thrilled to be working. A simple "shout" to the server would've let her know our food was ready. Based on our dinner I'd say it's a nice, simple restaurant for dinner. Nothing real fancy nor spectacular.

Great food, friendly service, especially for breakfast. A local's favorite. Only real negative is the cook's taste in music which is bad enough to drive you right back out the door, particularly in the early morning.

Pretty good breakfast spot for the most part. I don't care for their hash browns (under cooked) but my wife likes them. The omelets are always good. When it's crowded we know to expect a long wait, but our service has always been acceptable. We've eaten lunch there once and it was excellent. I had the buffalo burger and my wife had a bacon/avocado sandwich. Both were very good.

Great place for brunch! Breakfast Burrito was huge and tasty. The service was great. Right in the middle of a nice day in Crested Butte!

Super sweet server, very efficiently run place, and the food is pretty darn good. We came for brunch, which seems to be a popular time for the restaurant (and in Crested Butte in general). We were able to be seated and got our meals in just the right amount of time - always a plus! I ordered the Stuffed French Toast with blueberry compote. It was sweet enough to give you diabetes, but if you're the kind of person that likes, say, pie for breakfast, you'll appreciate this. My man got the Scromlette with eggs, cheese, honey-cured bacon and tomato, all set atop hashbrowns and accompanied with two slices of toast. Come hungry!

Awesome breakfast and lunch with an amazing and creative menu. And the hash browns are some of the best around, despite what a previous reviewer said. In a beautifully preserved historic building on the main street (Elk Ave) of Crested Butte.
